Thursday September 21

8:30 AM  –  11:30 AM

You already enjoy being in nature. Discover how Forest Bathing can make your experience richer, deeper and fuller. Let us take you on a unique two and half hour eco-trip, and invite you, through a series of brief ever-changing activities, to open yourself to all the sights, sounds, smells and textures of an Adirondack forest.

Forest Bathing, also called Shinrin-Yoku, originated in Japan in the early 1980s, in an effort to promote greater health among the mainly urban Japanese population. More than two decades of research studies in Japan, the US and abroad have found that Forest Bathing can lower blood pressure and heart rate, boost our immune system as well as reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

Certified Forest Therapy Guide Helene Gibbens will lead you on this relaxing and rejuvenating journey. Take a pause from your busy life and reconnect with yourself and with the natural world. Find more information about Forest Bathing and Helene at adirondackriverwalking.com.
